We have to come to the place where we have an awakening. That is all I can hope to do for anyone. Many patients feel that as a doctor I can do this or that, but I really can't do very much. All I can do is give you a little hatpin. Push you along, awaken you, get you started on a new path. I can give you the ball, but you have to carry it.
I know Nature works, but I can't work it for you. All I can do is share it with you. I've been sick myself. I know what it is to be down. I know what it is to have something and then lose it, to have your happiness taken from you through loss of a loved one. I also know what it is to start over in life with a year old babe under your wing.
I know too that the ball that hits the ground hardest, always bounces the highest!
I know that we need the experience of living with sickness and living in this present age. The fool can't understand what's in the wise man's head. The wise man understands what's in the fool's head because he was once a fool himself.
That wisdom you need is coming to you. I don't wish you too many more bad or sad experiences, but I do know you're going to come out of them, because there is only one way to go, and that Is up. There is no experience that you will have that you won't be better for having, no matter how bad you consider it.
