Unusual legal actions against a number of Direct Selling Companies, issuance of Direct Selling Directives by the government and immediate dismissal of the same by its successor, divorce of a number of couples associated with the affiliation of different direct selling companies and issue of warrants and arrests of a number of direct sellers by government; all of those incidences urges the necessity of MLM Act in Nepal.
In such circumstances, Government of Nepal should issue MLM Act as per the norms and values of international MLM Industry in the earliest - to regulate this industry and bring it into the circumference of national revenue. Indeed, MLM Industry can help the nation overcome the overwhelming problem of unemployment, probably the most threatening challenge of the nation. It also helps to establish access of normal people to world class products and services as well.
